How I Got My Start In Music
I got my start in music when I was in 6th grade at Rosewood Middle School. I joined the band and played the saxophone for one year. I left band during my 7th grade year because I wanted to try the STEM class they had just added. However, at the end of my 7th grade year, some of the choir students were going around with a sign-up sheet for choir for the next year. I don't remember what my thought process was at the time, but I just said, "Y'know what? Why not?" and signed the sheet. During my 8th grade year, Mrs. Lisa West helped me develop the beginnings of my voice and a love for music. After that year, a few unfortunate things happened and I ended up going to Spring Creek High for my 9th and 10th grade years. There, Mr. Dan Kilgore built upon the foundation Mrs. West had made. Right then, I knew that there was nothing else I wanted to do.
